I was practicing for a PA tourney on Saturday, when I got a quarter sized blister on the ball of my big toe. How do I make it go away in 3 days? Will I be able to compete in the tourney? Do the gods of DDR smile upon me, or laugh me into submission while the devil copies my homework?

The best thing to do is to pop it and squeeze all of the water out, but don't tear it off, the skin will settle and it'll be back to normal (or close to normal) in like 2 days.

Yeah, I always pop my blisters, and get some kind of sick pleasure out of doing it. It seems to help too.

Blisters rock.

It's pretty unanimous.
Pop it, and put a band-aid on it to keep it from getting an infection from your shoe.

No it's not unanimous. Popping blisters is stupid. It makes as much sense as picking at a scab. The reason crap like that is there is to protect what's underneath it. Popping or picking at them defeats the whole purpose.

Not exactly because in this case a blister is "bad". What is forming underneath the skin is "pus" (don't you even dare think of what you are thinking right how laugh.gif ). "Pus" is basically useless to the body, built up excretions and should be taken out of the body as soon as you get the chance. What's going to happen if you don't pop the blister (which, btw, i've had about 20 of them... i know what happens and how they feel and etc... riiight.gif ) the pus inside will sometimes begin to get rotten and possibly change colors and etc... So, it is better of it you just popped a little hole to the blister and let the pus drain out. Believe me! It will help E13.gif

Pus gains its strange color from dead white blood cells, since they live for like a week or something. They begin to pile up, then more white blood cells come to eat the dead ones, then they die, then everything just gets worse. I would just get a needle and poke a little hole in it.

Lots of misinformation about blisters

Rather than debate this here, I would encourage anyone who's not sure to Google "should I pop blisters?" for more information.

That might work for getting rid of the blister, but you may or may not have a much larger problem.

Well the proper way to take care of it is to...
1. Wash your foot off
2. Rub the blister w/ Rubbing Alcohol
3. Take a needle or pin and heat it above a fire till it's red
4. Let it cool
5. Stick it in the side of your blister (near the edge)
6. Gently put pressure so the liquid will come out
7. Put a bandage over it so it won't get infected.

Or, as opposed to heating up the needle, just dip it into alcohol and poke a hole in.

Being a sufferer of chronic dishydrotic eczema, I've dealt with blisters all the bloody time, and I'd just pop them by putting about a half-shot of whiskey in a bowl, washing the infected skin, then dipping the needle in said whiskey and popping the blisters, over and over.

Now, I do have blisters on m feet also from playing DDR. I never did anything about them and now they're all hard, like, callusses (bad spelling) but it still hurts. Pop teh uber 1337 bliSter!
