In this thread you can post your comments, questions and experiences related to the TX-series. Note that the first 12 pages contain only discussion of TX-4000 and TX-6000.
TX-4000 and TX6000
TX4000/TX6000 is new model manufactured by mayaflash. These models are far more durable and stronger than the horrible TX1000/TX2000. Some people have had problems after heavy use, but the majority has had exellent experiences with TX4000/TX6000.
INFO
-The arrows are not 100% metal like many people say. They are actually made from a piece of wood which is covered by a metal layer. This allows the arrow to bend inwards when stomping over arrow, which softens your dancing (it returns to normal state immediately when you lift your foot). Nobody has had issues with breaking/cracking arrows. There is only one negative side in the metal coated arrows: they are hard to press down with hands. ITG users might not like the metal arrows (they use hands lot), but for DDR use the metal arrows are perfect.
-The sensors use foil contact. However nobody has reported from having issues with foil being burned out. The sensors are large enough and the sensitivity is good. The sheet-metal mod can be done but the unmodded pad is already sensitive enough for normal use.
-The main difference between TX4000 and TX6000 is the bar. The bar attached to TX6000 has been reported as weak and unstable. It might need some support to hold up better (chair, bed, wall, etc.)
The best place to buy this pad is propably e-bay (they often have different names there). European customers should use lik-sang or play-asia, since they have the cheapest prices.

I have today ordered a TX-4000 from play-asia.com todat! I live in sweden so this was about the only pad I could find. You could also find TX-1000 at lik-sang.com but it would cost me as much as the TX-4000 because its very expensive to order from lik-sang europe. After reading on this forum about the TX-1000 getting cracked arrows all the time I believe I have made the right decision since the TX-4000 is all in metal. I also think I got a really good price, about 170$ with shipping. Another great thing with the TX-4000 is that it supports X-box, PS2 and PC without extra control boxes. I guess the pad will arrive in about 1 week or something, I will post info about the TX-4000 by then! |

Yup. TX6000 is same as TX4000 but it has support bar. I have red that the support bar being weak and getting easily broken from the soldering point. One guy broke the support bar in 2 days if I remember right. Thats the reason I am going for the TX4000. So far the support bar has been the only weak spot in the TX6000 what I have red.
Edit. The TX6000 is little more thicker than TX4000. Because the difference of the thickness it weights also little more |

Stamina! Tell me about your TX6000 pad. Has it worked fine? Are there any freezing arrows/tripple arrows/control box bug/worn out sensors/bad soildering/not responding arrows? Are you satisfied on your pad and how long/much have you been using it? |

i havent any problems MAINLY cuz of the fact school takes over my life and kills my free time
i havent done the sheet metal mod and i donty think i am, cuz its pretty responsive enough right now so i wouldnt worry bout it. But if u play ITG, u might wanna think bout trying the mod cuz its responds really with feet, but with hands, obviously, its gunna hurt a lot, cuz u g2 slam it down
be carefully if u do decide to use the mod, cuz if u do it wrong, the contact wire could constantly be touching the sheet metal, causing a burn out, and u dont want a $200-$300 dance pad doing that |

By the contact wire you are meaning the wire which is attached to the sensor? Maybe I could put some foam around the sensors so that the button would be actually little higer than normally. In that way I can avoid alltime contact.
And one question. Can the mod been done after the foils are already burned out? |

yeah those sites are safe. they're yahoo.com stores. i think Need_Stamina bought his TX-6000 from imarketcity and i bought a Super Dual Joy Box Adapter from elementsource. the adapter was sent and stamina's tx6000 was shipped to him/her as well. so these sites are safe _________________

The only reasonable place to buy tx4000 or tx6000 is from playasia, if you live in europe. They sell the tx4000 with control box for only 130$ including vat. Since I live in Finland I will propably order one before christmas. However if you live in USA it might be better to buy from some other place.
Oh and jjang. You were before wery interested in buying tx4000 (when I searched post with word tx4000 it gave full page of your messages XD). Did you already buy one or did you find a better solution? |

im hopefully getting one for christmas. once i get it i might sheet metal mod it. anyone know whats the thinnest sheet metal for modding metal pads? i also might make some extra lexan panels with sheet metal contacts uncase my panels break(not saying the are crappy, probably its very unlikely these panels with snap).
hey i think the redoctane afterburner cboxes might work with the TX4000 and 6000. its 10 bux cheaper than the tx4000 cboxes at videogamecentral. anyone know if its possible to use the RO AB cboxes with the tx4000 and 6000? _________________
