There are 3 colored notes that scroll upwards towards a line. As they reach the line, you must hold down the corresponding color and strum the guitar pick when the color reaches the top. There is also a column on the right side and a little guitar icon will scroll upwards towards an outlined picture of it. When it reaches that point, you should tilt the end of your guitar upwards (wailing) to gain more points. Guitar Freaks has been released in the USA, but only 1st mix. However, a few places also have the import versions such as 3rd Mix. It can also be bought for the PSX or you can get Guitar Freaks 3rd Mix which also includes Drum Mania 2nd Mix for the Japanese PS2.
